We have a 7 step process which will takes us from an initial conversation to launching a live site. This includes an initial consultation, content gathering, agreeing a design.

Just contact us and we can discuss your ideas and requirements.

There’s no easy answer to that question as no two websites are ever alike. We can however give you a price once we’ve had an initial consultation with you and agreed the work to be done.

It’s not absolutely necessary, we can talk via email and schedule calls and Zoom meetings.

A web hosting services allows you to put your website on a computer and access it via the internet. You may be happy to know that we can handle this for you but if you prefer to host a site yourself we can provide you with the website once complete.

Yes, we can maintain the site for you including changes to the content. We will charge you based on the time taken to make the changes.

Please understand that in addition to changes to the content, any site will also require maintenance for software updates which includes bug fixes, security patches and new features.

We use the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) for many reasons. It’s by far the most popular content management system in the world, at the time of writing, it’s used by 37% of the world’s websites and over 60% of Content Management systems:

It has wide spread support with an abundance of themes, plugins and documentation.

We can also develop plugins for specialised requirements using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.

A Content Management System (CMS) is software application that allows users to create a website without coding.

A user interface allows you to create pages and add content to them. Site wide layouts known as ‘themes’ can be installed to change the look and feel. A CMS also provides user roles and permissions, security features, extensions (usually known as plugins), automated updates, and blogging functionality.

Plugins are a key feature of a CMS as they allow the functionality to be extended, to provide SEO, backups, security, forms, galleries, social media links etc.

Care needs to be taken when selecting plugins to ensure quality, continued updates and support as well as to avoid possible conflicts with other installed plugins.

Yes, that is an option.

If you wish, you can have full access to the site once complete, you’ll be able to add images, update the titles and descriptions, create new pages etc.

However, this assumes you are competent enough to make these changes. The pages are designed to work across all devices types (mobile, tablet, desktop) so you may need some training to be able to do this.

We do recommend you use a WordPress professional for installing and updating plugins and for updating WordPress itself.

I can offer one to one tutorials, for sites we build, if you’re interested in learning how to make changes your own site yourself.

Your site will be SEO friendly so for example, it’s page’s will have:

  • Titles: Unique and descriptive page titles help search engines understand the content of each page on a website.
  • Headers (H1, H2, H3, etc.). Properly using header tags helps define the hierarchy of the content on a page and makes it easier for both users and search engines to understand the main topics of the page.
  • Friendly URLs: Short, descriptive, meaningful URLs that accurately reflect the content of the page make it easier for both users and search engines to understand the purpose of the page.
  • Images that are sized for performance with text descriptions used by search engines to understand the content of images on a website.
  • A site map to indicate the structure of the website to search engines.

An SEO friendly website will be visible to Google but ranking at number 1 in the search engine results pages (SERPs) or even appearing in the first page of the SERPs, for any given phrase is a complex and multi-faceted process that depends on a number of factors.

A well thought out plan created by an SEO specialist would be required to stand any chance of ranking the site on the first page of the SERPs. This would include taking into account the competition for the phrase, the relevance and quality of your content and the strength of your backlink profile, among other things. If this service is required, it would need to be done separately.

The structure of a templated website is fixed, each page will have certain sections and those sections will contain elements such as images, text, lists and so on. We/you would then need to provide or create content to fit those elements. If for example, a page section contained a title, an image and some text, we’d need the title, image and text to put into that particular page section.

With a custom website, we would first create the content and then create designs to present that information in an appealing and user-friendly manner. This obviously takes more time and therefore is costlier.
